IPL Photo-facial

Cynosure ICON IPL Photo-facial
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacials is a light-based treatment used to treat pigmentation, age spots, diminishing broken capillaries, and more. Photorejuvenation is a choice of many individuals to maintain skin health and keep it looking young and radiant.
It is a safe, quick, and non-invasive lunchtime treatment with practically no downtime. Photorejuvenation uses a controlled blast of remarkably intense light of a safe and specific wavelength which stimulates the collagen-producing cells for healthier and plumper skin.
If you have a variety of different goals such as younger-looking skin, faded brown spots, fewer facial veins, and less rosacea, then IPL Photofacials is an excellent choice for you.
The number of IPL Photofacials will depend on the condition being treated and the kind of results you want. Moreover, IPL Photofacials also require regular skincare routine provided to you by your aesthetician.

IPL Photofacial FAQs at Laser Genesis Skin Clinic
What improvements can I see with IPL Photo-facials?
IPL stimulates new collagen growth resulting in smoother, more even, healthier skin
How does it Work?
IPL Photo-facials use an optimized light device to deliver energy into your skin, targeting pigmented and vascular lesions, which slowly disappear as the body’s natural healing process progresses.
Can the benefits of IPL be boosted by combining it with other treatments?
In today’s fast-paced lifestyle we want maximum results with minimum visits, and at Laser Genesis we understand. IPL treatments can be combined with microdermabrasion procedure at the same visit to enhance and boost the results.
In cases of severe sun damage, we can combine IPL Photo-facials with a topical application of a photosensitizing product called Levulan to get rid of actinic keratosis.
Who is a Good candidate?
Photorejuvenation is an excellent choice for women and men of all ages. Minor skin concerns like Age Spots, unsightly, and Rosacea can be addressed with the use of IPL Photo-facials.
Are there any tests to see if a person is a good candidate for IPL treatments?
At the time of initial consultation, we do a digital Skin analysis to see the extent of sun damage and determine if you are a good candidate for IPL. We also like to do a small test patch and wait for 48 hours to see the reaction of the skin before we proceed to do the entire area.
Which body areas can be treated with IPL Photo-facials?
IPL Photo-facial is the choice of treatment to erase sun damage including Face, Neck, Chest, Back, Hands, Arms, Legs, and Feet.
What are the advantages of IPL treatments?
With minimum to practically no downtime, you can keep the treatments as discreet as you wish. You will see a dramatic reduction of photodamage and enhancement in collagen.
How quickly will I recover?
IPL Photo-facials being non-invasive procedures there is practically very little recovery time. Typically, most people experience a mild, sunburn-like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor swelling immediately following the treatment. This generally lasts from anywhere between a couple of hours to twenty-four hours.
Treated pigmented lesions may appear a bit darker initially and would slough off in the next few days revealing clearer skin.
The other possible side effects may include hypo or hyperpigmentation which is extremely rare but not permanent.
Does it hurt? There is discomfort associated with the treatment. Each pulse of the IPL feels like an elastic band snapping against the skin to make the treatment more comfortable the laser is equipped with a chilling tip that cools the skin prior to treatment.
How many treatments are required to see the improvement?
We recommend a series of 4-6 IPL Photo-facials to see significant long term improvement, however, our skin is continually aging thus to maintain the results follow up treatments are required.
How can I enhance my Photo-facial results?
Tanning or unprotected sun exposure should be avoided as it causes the breakdown of collagen. Proper home care and a broad spectrum SPF 30 should be applied throughout the year.
